Driveway Repair
Call on Denver’s Concrete Repair Experts
Do you have a driveway that is cracked and uneven? One where you feel bumps every time you drive on it? Perhaps sunken portions even trap water to the extent that it turns some parts into mini-ice rinks in the winter. When that happens, you have two options: driveway repair or replacement. At Colorado Concrete Lifting we specialize in repairs that can extend the life of your driveway concrete. You avoid a costly and time consuming complete tear-out and re-pouring project while getting a full-service driveway repair.
Many concrete repair companies only do half the job. They will lift the sunken portions of the concrete slab but do nothing with the existing cracks. Or they will make cosmetic repairs to the cracks while doing nothing to address their underlying cause.
At Colorado Concrete Lifting, we can do both.
The Two Parts of Driveway Repair: Concrete Leveling & Crack Sealing
Concrete Leveling
Many concrete problems are caused when portions of the slab begin to sink because the ground beneath them can not properly support the weight of the concrete.
Sometimes the ground wasn’t properly compacted during installation. Other times erosion has weakened the soil beneath the slab. Regardless, when part of the slab begins to sink, it puts the entire slab under stress. This leads to cracking and sometimes ugly trip hazards where the slab on one side of the crack is significantly higher than the other.
Therefore, any driveway repair project involving a cracked and sinking slab must involve concrete leveling.
What is Our Concrete Leveling Process
Planning: We examine your driveway to see which portions are sinking and need to be lifted.
Preparation: We drill dime-sized holes into the slab in the chosen locations
Injection: We inject a polyurethane foam mixture through the holes. The foam expands underneath the slab, hydraulically raising it from below. When the foam cures, which generally takes about 15 minutes, it will be strong enough to support both the slab and any vehicles driving or parked on top of it. We constantly monitor the injection process to ensure a precision lift.
Clean-up: We fill the holes and clean up any excess foam.
The process is fast, and your driveway will be ready for use almost immediately afterward.
Crack and Joint Sealing
So the sunken portion of your driveway has been lifted back to level. The problem is, you often are still left with the cracks. They aren’t as bad anymore, because they are now level, but concrete leveling by itself can’t fix the cracks. That is where crack and joint sealing comes into play.
These cracks, along with being noticeable, can cause other problems as well:
Erosion & Soil Washout – Weakening the foundation beneath your concrete.
Freeze-Thaw Damage – Water expands in cold temperatures, widening cracks.
Trip Hazards – Uneven surfaces pose risks for homeowners and businesses.
Our Crack Sealing Process
Thorough Crack Cleaning – Removing debris for proper adhesion.
Precision Filling – Injecting the sealant deep into cracks and joints.
Smooth Finishing – Ensuring a seamless, durable seal.
Final Inspection – Checking for complete coverage and long-term durability.
